I have an Athlon XP 2600+, which runs @ about 2.1 ghz, yet when i look at the specs for it on Vista, it claims it is only 1.25ghz. When i was running XP, it had it correctly as ~2ghz. Also, on the device manager's profile of it, it claims it is K7, which I can't remember if that is right or not. I looked for a while on AMD's site, but i couldn't find anything that looked like it would help. Any ideas? Thanks =)

Did you do a clean install or upgrade? It seems that upgrade installs are having a LOT more trouble than they are worth.

Did an absolutely clean install. Copied all my stuff i wanted kept (music pics and such) to my 2nd drive, stuck in the Vista disc, booted into it, and wiped my C: clean, installed it.
I couldn't stand it, my games i put on were running horribly slow on the lower settings than I had running on XP, so I partitioned the drive, lpanning on having a Multi-OS, but soon found out Vista doesn't like that :( So i'm back on XP. Wish I could have had a multi-OS, i liked Vista apart from not being able to play some games :(
Back here in XP, also Its recognizing my 2600, and as 2.09ghz. Oh well, I plan on putting a whole new machine together this summer, so maybe Vista will recognize all that correctly.
